Unfortunately, over the years many vintage guitars have suffered various modifications, from the subtle to the downright ridiculous!, I have had all sorts of guitars with various issues across my work bench.

If you have a poorly vintage instrument, drop me a line, I might be able to help out. Due to my guitar building commitments, I am not always able to take on everything I‘m asked to, so please don’t be offended if I turn it down...

1961 Fender P bass

This is a 1961 Fender Precision Bass, it has had various mods over the years, both body and neck have been refinished, the pickup changed, the pots were changed and it’s been re-fretted. All of the hardware seems to be original.

The upper horn in particular was very over sanded.

The instrument played reasonably well, had a nice tone and was a prime candidate for a restoration...

Restoration 1963 Fender P bass

This is Brad’s 1963 Fender Precision Bass, basically other than a refin to the body, it’s all original.

It’s been finished in what looks like a light walnut stain.

Brad wanted it returned to the original three tone sunburst it’d left Fullerton with...

Off I go then...


1962 Fender Jazz Bass restoration

This is a very cool ‘62 Jazz Bass...refin body and oversprayed neck.

All original parts, plays really nicely, lovely straight neck...

So a body refin in it’s original fiesta red...of which there is evidence in the cavities...let’s go...!
