Hot off the press...a very cool looking and playing, completely hand made, daphne blue T type, finished in a lovely distressed daphne blue. It’s based on a ‘63 model, has the curved join period correct fingerboard with appropriate 12th fret dot spacing...
Lightweight alder body, made to exact vintage spec., Maple neck with dark rosewood fingerboard, 9.5” radius, 6105 size medium frets, clay dots and a bone nut. Neck depth at the first fret is 21.2mm, 25mm at the 12th...The neck is a very comfortable C shaped profile with lightly rolled edges and is aged to feel smooth and played in. The tuners are Kluson style Gotohs, aged to suit the guitar...
The pickups are hand wound Radioshop ‘64 style, they really look and sound the part. The bridge pickup has really nice bite to it without being shrill, both together give the classic funky cluck, neck on it’s own is warm but defined. CTS pots are used as well as a CRL 3 way switch, a 0.022mfd capacitor is employed for tone duties and the output goes via a Swithcraft jack.
Vintage style hardware is used throughout, saddles are the knurled steel type which gives the guitar a nice snap to the sound. The handmade, hand aged mint green guard is lightly warped and aged and looks great against the daphne blue.
The guitar plays beautifully, is lively and resonant...and is very shoulder friendly at exactly 7 and a half pounds. The guitar is supplied in a solid ABS case
As ever, the pictures don’t do the guitar justice, it’s a really cool guitar, looks incredibly authentic with a nice mix of chips, dings, play wear and lacquer cracks...you certainly won’t be scared to go out and give this one a thrashing...!!
