Here’s the latest offering from the Bravewood workshop..., one for the bass players, a cool as it comes P type bass in a very battered three tone sunburst...this thing looks like it’s played solidly since 1962...!

Alder body with maple neck and dark Amazon rosewood fingerboard. The 7.25” radius neck is fitted with medium jumbo frets, clay dots and a bone nut. It should be noted this bass features the full ‘inch and three quarters’ nut width (C neck), as such some bassists, particularly those with smaller hands, might find that a little on the wide side...! Neck depth at first fret, not including fret, is 21mm, 24.75mm at the 12th.

Vintage style hardware is fitted throughout, reverse ‘Kluson’ style tuners, threaded saddle bridge, under G string finger rest...even the strap button on the back of the headstock is present. The thin aluminium under guard shielding plate is peeping out here and there from under the hand made 4 ply celluloid tortoise shell pickguard. This is bevelled with the vintage correct 30 degree edge angle.

The pickup is a hand wound Radioshop ‘61 replica P pickup...and as with their other pickups...sounds great, classic P tones can easily be coaxed from this beast. This is wired through CTS pots and a Switchcraft jack socket, the capacitor is 0.047mfd.

The bass plays beautifully and sounds like a classic vintage instrument, it’s also a shoulder friendly 8lbs 13oz, so long gigs aren’t going to be a chore...

It is supplied with a quality Hiscox hard case to protect it on it’s travels. This is a really nice bass and would grace anyone’s collection. Like all the instruments I make, the templates used were made using real vintage instruments for dimensions...it really doesn’t get any closer than this...
